Common Nutritional Deficiencies in Pregnancy

Iron Deficiency (Anemia):

  1. pale skin/lips
  2. shortness of breath
  3. weakness
  4. dizziness
  5. tiredness
  6. rapid heartbeat
  7. trouble concentrating
  8. desire to chew ice

Protein Deficiency:

  1. inadequate weight gain
  2. frequent infections
  3. fluid retention
  4. muscle weakness
  5. skin problems
  6. exhaustion

Calcium Deficiency:

  1. aches and pains
  2. restless legs
  3. trouble sleeping
  4. tooth pain
  5. numbness
  6. heart palpitations
